Everything We Can Share About CHERUBY (For Now)
Founded by Cherry Xu, CHERUBY is an arts and cultural organisation dedicated to fostering creative production at the intersection of art and fashion. CHERUBY aims to nurture the city’s vibrant cultural ecosystem through community engagement and cultural production.
CHERUBY will host year-round multi-disciplinary programming, including exhibitions, discursive events, and residencies. With a rigorous and experimental approach, CHERUBY aims to collaborate with organisations, practitioners and researchers to drive cross-disciplinary exchange and knowledge production locally and internationally.
CHERUBY believes that creating interdisciplinary exchange and situate the more international voices within a local community is vital for the global cultural ecosystems. We will continuously provide support to Chinese and international artists and designers, and will advance research that enrich cross-cultural explorations.
CHERUBY values the practice and voice of every practitioner we collaborate with. We appreciate diverse methodologies across disciplines and cherish individual practitioner whose work, while already recognised internationally, may hold unique and meaningful resonance within the local context. While engaging with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, we aim to build an open and trustworthy platform for dialogue.
This November, CHERUBY will unveil its new space, CHERUBY House, in Shanghai. Here, ideas and meanings will unfold and intertwine, moving beyond conventional forms of collaboration. Together, they will shape a boundless ground for exchange—an evolving tapestry of dialogue and discovery that invites you to cross boundaries and imagine with us.
